- We've attempted to participate in The Great Sunflower Project but none of our sunflowers have grown. :( We are really trying to learn about plants and figure out how to nurture them but we do NOT have green thumbs around here. I'm thinking our problem is that we get busy with other things and forget to water them every day...W is going to water them now, I hope it's not too late.
- I've mentioned before that the boys love chess and especially like to play with Hubby. Well, W took his first chess class Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday last week and then on Friday participated in his first ever chess tournament! It was a Swiss system tournament so each child got to play in all 6 rounds and W placed 24th out of 29 kids. He was so excited and is planning to join a chess club so that he can learn more and do better next year.
- J has recently discovered narwhals (also known as the "unicorn of the sea") and is enjoying learning everything he can about them. I had no idea such an animal even existed! (Isn't it awesome when you get to learn right along with your kids!)
- We attended all 5 days of vbs at our church last week and had a great time! Our church did Group's Croc Doc this year. I was the crafts and missions teacher and Hubby was in charge of games. The boys had a great time learning about The Exodus and how much God loves them. Our Family Connections Pastor always does a good job and vbs is the highlight of the kids summer. As for the adults....we're still trying to recover. :D
