Missions Teaching Schedule 2009

In an effort to be a more effective and organized teacher I've decided to implement the following schedule for teaching missions in 2009. I'm hoping to eliminate two things. 1)The "What am I going to teach about next month?" question and 2)The "Oh I finally figured out what to teach about I better get on it!" problem. I guess my desire is to be more prepared and therefore bring more glory to God.

  • January - Valentine's Day Cards for missionaries
  • February - Asia - Guest speaker
  • March - Focus on Prayer
  • March (5th Sunday) - Australia
  • April - Central or South America - Venezuela and Nicaragua
  • May - Europe - Ukraine
  • May (5th Sunday) - Swaziland
  • June - Hephzibah Children's Home (USA)
  • July - The Middle East (10/40 Window) - Pakistan and Azerbaijan
  • August - Focus on missionary kids
  • August - (5th Sunday)
  • September - An Island Country- New Zealand
  • October - The Persecuted Church
  • November - Christmas Cards for missionaries
  • November - (5th Sunday) - TBA
  • December - Africa - Ethiopia

I teach the 3rd and 5th Sunday's of the month and have a set schedule for the 3rd Sundays as far as what continent or topic I'll be choosing from. I left the 5th Sundays up for grabs to allow for more flexibility and so I chose those topics based on either what Iwas interested in, what's happening in the world or what I have an abundance of information on. Also, June's topic will always be Hephzibah because that is the month we have VBS and all of the VBS offering money is sent to them.

My hope is that these lessons will bless families, teachers and kids everywhere who are trying to be more missions minded. Let me know if you have any suggestions!
