Jesus Loves the Little Children (Missions in Macedonia)

I'll be starting this lesson out by giving each child at least one page of the Albanian/English version of the Good News Coloring Book. (Thank you to Jena over at yarns of the heart for telling me abut this and many other great resources.) Albanian is one of the two primary languages spoken in Macedonia. (Although Macedonian is actually spoken by the majority of the population.) I think I'll ask one of the better readers to attempt to read the passage in Albanian. I'm sure the kids will enjoy this and then they can color the page later in their free time. Giving them this color page sets up the main point of this missions lesson.

You see, in Macedonia child evangelism is illegal. In order to share the gospel with a child you must have a written note from the parents. This is often a problem because in Macedonia most of the parents do not realize how important a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is.

I'll be asking the kids to volunteer to pray that the children in Macedonia will know that Jesus loves them just like he loves us!!

We will then find Macedonia on a world map and talk about the Macedonian flag. You can find a color page with both of these elements on it if you click here.

We will end our time together with prayer for the Steinbrecher family who are preparing to teach English in Macedonia. You can find their blog here.
