Bible memory-
In the same way let your light shine for men that they may see your good deeds and praise your father in heaven. Matthew 5:16
Main Point...when we live our lives for Jesus He will always be by our sides and people can't help but notice.
Briefly tell the story of Joseph from Genesis 37-47.
Make these points:
God gave Joseph a special gift of interpreting dreams.
Joseph always did right and used the gift God gave him for God's glory no matter what his circumstances. Because of Joseph's faithfulness to God, God was able to use Joseph to save an entire nation and his family from a horrible famine.
God never left Joseph. God was always with him working things for Joseph's good.
Because Joseph was committed to living God's way he was also able to forgive his brothers for their crimes against him.
The way that Joseph lived his life impacted those around him. People noticed and he was highly favored.
One of the main ways that missionaries show God's love to others is by the way they live everyday. They commit themselves to living God's way and to relying on God in all things and this shines through in all that they do.
This is something we too can accomplish in our own lives by being a good neighbor and friend and committing our lives to getting to know God better and better every day!

Pages 3-5 at this link are Valentine starter pages or they could make a Valentine using whatever art medium you are most comfortable with. A Valentine for Mom or Dad or a close family member would be nice to start with and then more can be made for friends and neighbors.

Science
This doesn't really count as Science but I'm putting it in this catagory because it is kind of like cooking...maybe that's a stretch.
Chocolate covered pretzels to be made for children's neighbors or school teachers. While kids wait for their pretzels to cool have them decorate lunch bags to pack them in.

Games
Bible memory hot potato- Using a cardboard heart with the Bible memory verse printed on it play "Hot Potato" Start music, pass the heart around, the child who is caught with the heart when the music stops says the memory verse and one way they can show Jesus' love to others. Then the music starts and they pass the heart!

Teach the chorus to this Land and Hildebrand song.

What do you think, please, of Obadiah Shoher's interpretation of the story? (here: samsonblinded.org/blog/genesis-37.htm ) He takes the text literally to prove that the brothers played a practical joke on Yosef rather than intended to murder him or sell him into slavery. His argument seems fairly strong to me, but I'd like to hear other opinions.
