Stand and Deliver is based on the true story of math teacher Jamie Escalante and the students he inspires to rise far above the expectations of those around them. We love this story and we love the math tricks we learn while watching. This is a movie you'll want to preview and then decide if your kids can watch it. I don't worry too much about it but you will hear a bit of bad language.
Another math movie we love is called, Math Who Needs It? While watching this film you'll be introduced to several famous people and cool jobs like sports, music and surfboard making, where math is essential. It also features Jamie Escalante and demonstrates why math matters in the real world.
