My 8 year old's birthday cake

Saturday, W turned 8! As usual he had some very specific ideas for his cake and this year he decorated it himself. Here he is in the process of drawing an octopus with green frosting. (I thought it was perfect...8 legs and 8 years.)

And here is the finished product.

His party was so much fun. The highlight of the event was playing charades with our family and friends. W was excited too because he was given lots of building and science kits. He also got a cool Star Wars t-shirt and $30.00. (Hey, I want $30.00 for my birthday!)
