What did you do all day?

How many times have you been asked that question? Well, in case you're wondering...this is what we've done so far today...

7:45 am -
woke up but did not get up, stayed in bed and prayed instead!

8 am - 8:15 am -
read to the boys from the book, The Golden Goblet by Eloise Jarvis McGraw (we are using this book and others to study ancient Egyptian history), while they rubbed their tired daddy's back

8:15 - 8:30 am -
ate a nutritious breakfast

8:30 - 9 am -
the boys played video games with Dad (I know, bad homeschool mommy, feeding into every one's worst fears right)

9 - 9:20 am -
got dressed
wrote spelling words

9:20 - 10:30 am -
the boys took turns reading aloud to me while the other had a "quiet time" with God (their "quiet time" consisted of playing hymns on the piano - not very quiet but this was their idea of how they wanted to worship today not mine!)

during this time we also ended up taking a very short break to say goodbye to Daddy as he left for work

10:30 - 10:50 am -
break from school
the boys worked on chores
the plumber arrived (have to have our drain snaked, roots in the line)

10:50 - 11:10 am -
Bible time - today we studied Genesis 21 and 22

11:10 - 11:25 am -
time for our memory work-
this consists of 2 Bible passages
a poem
our Latin vocabulary
the manual alphabet and an oral "quiz"on other ASL signs
and locating the states we've learned on a USA map
this is all done orally

11:25 - 11:35 am -
handwriting (we use Handwriting Without Tears)
and a snack of fruit

11:35 - 11:50 am -
the boys worked in their phonics and grammar workbooks
while I prayed like crazy about the plumbing bill and swept the kitchen floor, taking time to tutor when needed

11:50 - noon -
lunch prep

12 - 12:30 pm -
we ate lunch
the boys watched, Between the Lions on PBS
while I typed all this out!

We still have math, independent reading and chores to do, in addition to vision therapy and running errands. Not every day looks like today of course, this was just today.

Hope your day has been as good as mine! BTW, the plumber is still here. :(
