A Little Adventure

I awoke this morning with a sigh of relief...Thank God we are homeschoolers! I was so anticipating today, knowing that it would be 60 degrees and having planned for it to be a fun day out, that I was horrified to be dreaming of sending my big boy to school! I was so sad that he had to go and that we couldn't instead go to the park on such a beautiful day. I even contemplated encouraging him to skip school. I was crying when I dropped him off, but oh so happy when I woke up and realized that it was only a nightmare! Horray for homeschooling!

So we did indeed go to the park and we loved it! We just ventured a little off trail at a local park and found a peaceful place to sit and fill up a page in our newly purchased art journals.

The drawing below was done by my little boy and is a cool rusted pipe he found and a rock with moss on it.

My big boy drew an old rock wall and then added an alien from his imagination.

Here is my hubby's painting of the rock wall.

And this is my view of the rock wall and the crazy tree in front of it. I have to admit to having been intimidated by the blank page. I've never been the artist in the family. My sister, husband and mother are all very talented artistically and I've never thought of myself in that way. I'm always worried about making a mistake I can't take back. But once I saw the boys just go at it without fear it was easier for me to do the same. They are so awesome and I thanked them later for it!

We had so much fun being outside and sharing an adventure together! We can't wait to do it again!
